Face and body paint--like all aspects of Mixtec costume--have been inventoried in the detail screens of the Nuttall and Selden laboratories. In those inventories, make-up patterns have been coded using a system of abbreviation outlined in MesoloreΓÇÖs library ( Hamann 1994).
